Things I Don't Understand, Items 267 thru 269

267. How the words on word verification, at times, seem vaguely threatening and/or prophetic
268. Wal-Mart
269. Snooki from that Jersey Whatchacallit show

Snooki has written a book and I haven't. Well, if that's not motivation, I don't know what is.

Yes Snooki wrote a book. It made the bestseller list. And I cried.

I often think the word verification words are trying to tell me something or insult me.

For instance, my verification for this post is redned. I think they meant to say redneck. And let me tell you something, just because I live in Podunk and my husband has a truck, does not mean we have to point fingers. I am originally from Chicago and I have all my teeth and I do not own any Lee Greenwood albums, so there, word verification.

Verification word: skmag. Can these things actually tell I'm sitting in my old lavender too-big bathrobe and haven't washed my hair yet and it's after 10:00 AM? I can hear the derision in its tone. Like the mean girls in high school.

The first time I was going to sign on to an art blog the verification word was, I kid you not, a word that is part of the female anatomy very similar to Volvo. I got scared and dumped any idea of that site for weeks. Thought it was going to hook me up to porn people or something. Guess it was something that just got by...I was new to this commenting thing and it freaked me. Now? Now I just get insulted. Skkmag, indeed! Takes one to know one!

Is it too simplistic to argue that Snooki's main purpose in life is to give the rest of us someone to feel superior to?

My verification word is tibbeko. I think I'll name my next pet that. Or maybe my next child.

I am fairly certain that Snookie will one day be CEO of Wal-Mart. I find this both disappointing and troubling.
