Tuesday Expert Advice

Dear Cupcake,

This morning, when I was watching the Today Show, I saw an interview with a boy named Colton Burpo who wrote a book titled, Heaven Is For Real, about how he went to heaven.  And it is for real.  And in the interview he regaled everyone with all the incredible details about how he walked around heaven and how he met the lord (I mean hot damn, right?) and how he is going to write another book. And as I listened to him I wondered if you think it would be okay to ask little Colton why, if he spent so much time shufflin' around the pearly gates in his Vans, did he not make a pit stop at the Identity Department in order to figure out what IN THE HELL he did to earn the last name of BURPO or do you think any poking around in this area will result in Saint El Burpito unleashing an army of fiery chariots on me?

Dear Squinty,
No.
Good luck,
Cupcake

O with a capital M and G,I SAW that this morning and did you NOTICE - how could you not - that the Jesus-Seeing-Kid was HICCUPING through the entire piece?! Do you think he was trying to actually BURP-O?

I saw this too! I love the image of us across the time zones, staring in disbelief at the TV.

I didn't see it. And I'm glad.

I was going to make a comment about how everyone connected to the Today Show should be boiled in oil.
Actually, I was going to say something worse but declined because it may make me seem a little angry/crazy.

My sister and niece feel, about Ann Curry, like some people feel about Mussolini. You'd get along with them quite well.

We're reading his first book in our book club. I can barely contain my enthusiasm.

Would you mind keeping me the loop about any mention in Lil Burpo's book of my deceased beagle Bob?

Holy Sheet Sista from another Brotha, when I got Harry at 8 weeks, I was torn between naming him Harry or "Bob!!"

Bob the Beagle. He was a handsome gentleman who had the need to run wild and my mother spent most of my childhood fixing fences he'd broken through or filling holes he'd dug in order to escape. Like Papillon. He was one of the great loves of my life. I am not surprised you were considering that name.
